The basics — everyone on NOM Credits, no matter your role, should know these.

Understanding your NOM Credits balance

Your Overview page shows your live balance and a quick summary of activity.

1. Earning — you gain credits automatically for things like signing up as a Global Nomad Pass member, buying an event ticket, or scanning a reward QR code at a booth/workshop.
2. Spending — you use credits to redeem side events at a festival or perks in the Marketplace (flights, eSIMs, accommodation discounts, and more).
3. Your balance updates instantly — no need to refresh or wait.

Checking your transaction history

Every credit earned or spent is logged with a date and description.

1. From any dashboard page, click Transactions in the sidebar
2. Green entries (+) are credits you earned; red entries (−) are credits you spent
3. Each entry tells you exactly why — e.g. "Welcome Bonus," "Marketplace perk redeemed," "Reward claimed"

Scanning a reward QR code to earn credits

Sponsor booths, workshops, and networking sessions often have a printed QR code you can scan to instantly earn credits.

1. Open Scan a QR Code in the sidebar (or tap the QR icon in the app)
2. Tap "Scan QR with Camera" and point your camera at the poster — or type the code printed underneath it manually
3. Tap Claim — credits land in your balance immediately, and you'll see a confirmation

💡 Example: You walk past a sponsor's booth at Athens Nomad Fest and see a printed QR code with "Scan to earn 100 NOM Credits." You open your NOM dashboard, tap Scan a QR Code, scan the poster, and 100 credits appear in your balance right away — no ticket or check-in needed for this part.

Redeeming a perk from the Marketplace

Spend your credits on partner offers — flights, eSIMs, accommodation, and more.

1. Open Perks Marketplace in the sidebar
2. Filter by category if you're looking for something specific (Flights, Accommodations, eSIM, etc.)
3. Click "View offer" on a perk, then confirm the redemption — the credit cost is deducted from your balance immediately

If your brand wants to distribute NOM Credits to attendees at a booth, workshop, or session, here's how that works.

If your venue is a NOM Credits partner, this is the entire process — it's just one step.

Creating a reward QR code

Give attendees a way to self-claim credits at your booth, workshop, or session — no volunteer needed to hand them out.

1. Go to Manage Reward QR Codes in your Admin Panel
2. Click "+ New Reward Code"
3. Fill in a title, a short code (e.g. SPONSOR-BOOTH-3), the NOM credit value, and optionally a max number of claims
4. Save — a QR code is generated automatically. Download it and print it, or copy the claim link to share digitally

💡 Example: You're running a workshop and want to reward everyone who attends with 50 credits. You create a code called WORKSHOP-ACCESS worth 50 NOM, print the QR poster, and stick it at the entrance. Attendees scan it on their way in and the credits land in their own account — you don't have to do anything else.

Creating a new reward code

Organizer-created codes are capped at 250 NOM per code. Each attendee can only claim a given code once — the QR itself can be scanned by unlimited different people.

Creating a side event

Side events are things attendees redeem credits for — workshops, dinners, excursions, upgrades.

1. Go to Manage Side Events in your Admin Panel
2. Click "+ New Side Event"
3. Fill in the name, description, category, location, NOM credit cost, and start time — a cover image is optional but recommended
4. Save as Draft to keep working on it, or Publish to make it live and bookable right away

Allocating credits directly to a user

For cases where you need to grant credits by hand — e.g. correcting an issue, or rewarding something outside the usual QR/event flow.

1. Go to Allocate NOM Credits in your Admin Panel
2. Search for the user by name or email
3. Click "+ Credits" next to their name and enter the amount

Assigning team & volunteer roles

Give your team access to entry check-in and let them help submit side events.

1. Go to Assign Roles in your Admin Panel
2. Search for the person by name or email
3. Use the Change Role dropdown next to their name to make them a Team member for your event

As an organizer, you can only assign roles within your own event's team — you won't see or affect the other event's team members.

Checking attendees in at the entrance

Verify a booking is valid and mark someone as checked in.

1. Open Entry Check-In in your sidebar (found under "Event Team")
2. When an attendee arrives, ask them to open their NOM dashboard's ticket/booking QR code
3. Tap "Scan QR with Camera" and scan their screen — or type their booking code in manually
4. Tap Verify Booking — you'll see a confirmation the moment it's valid

💡 Example: Someone arrives at the entry gate. All they have to do is open their NOM dashboard's Events section (or wherever their ticket QR is shown) and show it to you. You open the Entry Check-In page and tap Scan to verify their ticket — that's it, they're checked in.
